The Bachelor of Science in Nursing at DIT encapsulates the development of the future generation of healthcare professionals who are proficient in nursing practice, as well as capable of insightful, evidence-based, and management-oriented thinking in the health care sector. The course covers theoretical units such as diagnostics, health promotion, biology, and psychology, with extended practical periods in cooperating health facilities that will enable students to transfer what they learn into real-life caring. Graduating students receive the academic degree of B.Sc. and the state certification as a registered nurse, qualifying them for both clinical and leadership positions in health care.

Duration: 8 semesters (4 years) or 9 semesters (4.5 years) depending on the version, such as the international track

ECTS credits: 240 ECTS (for 8-semester version)

Admission: Winter semester (October) German version; Summer semester (March) International version

Languages of instruction: German in the standard version; International version: English in the first 3 - 4 semesters together with German language modules, afterwards lectures in German

Accreditations

Public university of applied sciences (Germany) standard.

The programme leads to state-recognised nursing qualification in addition to the academic degree.

Admission Requirements

General German university entrance qualification (“Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”) or equivalent international qualification.

Training contract with a cooperating healthcare institution (in many cases) especially for international version.

Language requirements: German level A1 (for international version) + English B2 (for first semesters) or equivalent as specified.

Additional requirements: Extended certificate of good conduct (German “Erweitertes Führungszeugnis”).
