The master's degree program in Social and Cultural Anthropology is a four-semester (2-year) research-oriented program at Freiburg. It's taught entirely in English, although some of the optional courses are given in German. The program will enable you to acquire profound analytical and methodological skills and to develop intercultural sensitivity for the ways in which people organize their lives, interpret the world, and interact in globally connected contexts. In a way, there is a very strong emphasis on economic, environmental, and political anthropology, reflecting the research strengths within the institute.
