The Master of Science in Environmental Sciences is a four-semester, two-year program taught at the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources in Freiburg. It teaches students how to understand, model, and manage environmental change through an integrated approach of ecological, geoscientific, hydrological, technical, and socioeconomic perspectives. A central principle underlying this program is sustainability, teaching students how to develop strategies to conserve, adapt, and restore natural resources. Your course of study is determined by your five majors/profiles that you choose upon admission. You will further have the opportunity to specialize even more with electives and a compulsory internship.

Requirements for Admission

BACHELOR'S DEGREE: An appropriate degree in engineering, geography, natural sciences, environmental science, or a comparable major.

Language proficiency desired: C1 English for the profiles of English main, C1 German or its equivalent for German main profiles. First semester applications must be submitted between March 1st and May 15th. Selection: There is competition for admission (numerus clausus).
