The University of Freiburg runs a Master of Science in Forest Sciences that is a full-time, 4-semester, 2-year program with advanced training on forest ecosystems, utilization of forests, biodiversity, and sustainable management of forests. The ecological, economic, and political points of view on forests take into account the energetic and material usage of wood in its balance.
