The Master of Science in Space Engineering is a full-time, three-to-four-semester (i.e., 1.5–2 years) M.Sc. taught in English that focuses on in-depth training in modern space technologies, space systems design, such as satellites, launch vehicles, and payloads, space environment and physics, robotics for space applications and innovation, for human space exploration and sustainability in space. Students are equipped with knowledge and skills to design, realize and test space systems, to work with industry-level institutes such as ZARM-Centre for Applied Space Technology & Microgravity and DLR-Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V., and to carry out an individual project plus thesis that places them at the forefront of aerospace research and industry.
